Prashna · प्रश्न
Horary astrology: the chart of the moment a question is asked.
Prashna answers a specific question from a chart cast for the time and place the question was put, with no birth data needed. It also uses omens, the querent's manner and the state of the Moon to judge whether the question is genuine and ripe.
How it works in practice
- Cast the chart for the moment the question is understood and accepted.
- Test the chart's fitness before answering; not every moment gives a verdict.
- Read the ascendant for the querent and the relevant house for the matter.
- Answer the question asked, within a stated time window.
Strengths
- Works when the birth time is unknown or unreliable.
- Narrow scope makes the answer testable against the outcome.
Cautions
- Repeating the same question invalidates the reading.
- Best kept to concrete, answerable questions rather than life overviews.
How it differs from other schools
vs Parashari
The chart belongs to the question, not the person, so it says nothing about the rest of the life.
