Dasha periods — Vimshottari Dasha
The traditional system for reading life's timing.
What is Vimshottari Dasha?
A 120-year cycle in which nine planets run their Mahadashas in order. The first period starts from the lord of the Nakshatra your Moon occupies at birth.
Mahadasha lengths
Ketu 7, Venus 20, Sun 6, Moon 10, Mars 7, Rahu 18, Jupiter 16, Saturn 19 and Mercury 17 years.
Antardasha and Pratyantardasha
Each Mahadasha splits into nine Antardashas, and each Antardasha into nine Pratyantardashas, pointing to shorter windows.
How results are read
The period lord's sign, house, strength, aspects and the houses it rules all shape the reading, traditionally combined with transits.
In Astravya
Astravya shows exact Mahadasha, Antardasha and Pratyantardasha dates with the chart factors behind them.
