Nadi · नाडी
Lineage-held manuscript traditions with fine chart subdivisions.
Nadi covers several distinct manuscript-based traditions that subdivide the zodiac far more finely than the usual divisions and are transmitted within specific lineages. Astravya records Nadi material for reference and does not use it to generate predictions.
How it works in practice
- Work from very fine zodiacal subdivisions tied to a specific manuscript system.
- Follow the lineage's own reading procedure rather than general Parashari rules.
Strengths
- Very fine time resolution when the manuscript system and birth time align.
Cautions
- Sources are not uniformly available or verifiable, and versions differ widely.
- Requires an extremely precise birth time; small errors change the reading entirely.
How it differs from other schools
vs Parashari
Rules are lineage-specific rather than drawn from a shared, citable corpus.
