Kundli Milan questions
Why do calculators give different gun scores?
Two sites showing different scores for the same couple is common. The main reasons.
Kundli Milan calculator →Nadi Dosha →Manglik cancellation →
1. Birth time and Nakshatra boundaries
Guna Milan depends on the Moon's sign and Nakshatra. The Moon crosses a Nakshatra (13°20′) roughly every day. If the Moon was near a boundary at birth, a few minutes can change the Nakshatra or sign — and with it Tara, Yoni, Gana, Bhakoot and Nadi.
2. Different ayanamsha
Most Indian sites use Lahiri, but some use Raman, KP or others. These can differ by over a degree, enough to move a Moon near a boundary. Astravya uses True Lahiri (Chitrapaksha).
3. Time zone and place
A wrong birthplace, old time zone or AM/PM mix-up also moves the Moon. First check both sites have the same time and place.
4. Koota scoring tables
Traditions score Vashya and Yoni slightly differently — some take Vashya by sign, others by other rules, and Yoni can differ by half points. South India's ten-Porutham method is a different system and can't be compared with a score out of 36.
5. Applying cancellations
Some calculators add points back when Nadi or Bhakoot dosha is cancelled; others keep 0 and note the cancellation separately. Astravya keeps 0 and explains the cancellation separately.
What to do
Compare the Moon sign and Nakshatra on both sites. If they match and the score still differs, the difference is in the koota tables or cancellation rules. If they differ, birth time or ayanamsha is the cause. No score guarantees a marriage's success.
