What is Nadi?
The 27 Nakshatras are split into three Nadis — Adi, Madhya and Antya. A person's Nadi comes from their birth (Moon) Nakshatra. Ashtakoota gives Nadi the most points: 8.
When is it 0/8?
If both partners share a Nadi, Nadi scores 0; if they differ, the full 8. There is no in-between, so Nadi dosha drops the total by 8 at once.
Why tradition treats it as serious
Tradition links Nadi to health and children. This is a traditional belief, not a medical diagnosis. See a doctor for health questions.
Traditional cancellations
Tradition treats Nadi dosha as cancelled when both share a Moon sign but not a Nakshatra; share a Nakshatra but not a sign; or share a Nakshatra but not a pada. Many traditions add further rules, on which teachers disagree.
What Astravya shows
The Kundli Milan calculator shows both partners' Nadi, Nakshatra and pada. With Nadi dosha the score stays 0 and the cancellation conditions are listed separately, so you can see whether they apply. Show the full charts to a qualified astrologer before deciding.
